Frequently Asked Questions
-
We’re focused on service and craftsmanship, not volume. Every club is worked on by a trained and dedicated builder who takes the time to understand your game and preferences, not just match you to a profitable SKU on a wall. The goal isn’t to sell you more gear, it’s to help you enjoy the game more. If a simple adjustment or repair makes sense, that’s what we’ll recommend.
-
At Greenway Golfworks, customization isn’t a preset menu, it’s a conversation and a partnership. We understand how you swing, what you feel, and what you actually need. Specs are adjusted by hand, checked carefully, and built specifically for you. Our job is not complete until you love it!
-
You’re working directly with the person building your clubs, no middle layers, no guesswork. The leads to better communication, better results, and someone who stands behind the work. We’re a local business, run by a local golfer, supporting local courses and players. When you bring your clubs here, you’re supporting a neighbor, not a corporate chain.
-
Yes. Regripping is one of our most common services. Whether you need one grip replaced or a full set refreshed, we’ll make sure the size, style, and feel match your hands and your swing. A fresh grip can make a bigger difference than most golfers expect.
-
If your grips feel slick, hard, cracked, or you’re gripping tighter than usual, it’s probably time. Most golfers benefit from new grips once a year or every 40 rounds.
-
We typically turn regripped clubs arorund in 24 hours. If you need them sooner, let us know and we’ll do all we can to accomodate your needs!
-
Absolutely! Loft and lie angles play a huge role in ball flight, distance control, and consistency. We can measure your clubs and make precise adjustments to help your shots start on line and fly the way they should.
-
For most golfers, once a season is a good rule of thumb, especially if you practice on mats or play frequently. Clubs can drift out of spec over time, even if they’re brand new.
-
Reshafting is the process of removing the existing shaft from the club head and installing a new one to better match your swing, feel preferences, or performance needs, without replacing the entire club.
-
If you like your clubheads but the clubs feel too stiff, too soft, too heavy, or inconsistent, reshafting can be a smart, cost-effective upgrade.
-
Drivers, fairway woods, hybrids, irons, wedges, and putters. Single clubs or full sets. Steel or graphite.
-
Not at all. Reshafting helps golfers of all skill levels swing more comfortably and play more consistently. Using the proper equipment is especially important for new golfers to ensure they develop proper mechanics and are able to enjoy playing more!
-
Turnaround depends on the club and shaft availability. Labor usually takes 24 hours for a reshaft to ensure the epoxy has fully cured. We’ll always provide you with a clear timeline upfront.
-
Club stamping adds custom letters, numbers, or symbols to your club (usually wedges). Paintfill adds color to the stampings for a clean, finished look. It’s the ideal way to customize your clubs.
-
Most commonly wedges. It often depends depending on the design and club material. If you’re unsure if your clubs can be stamped, we’ll gladly take a look and provide a recommendation.
-
No. Club stamping and paintfilling is purely cosmetic. No material is removed in the process. Your clubs will perform the same, just with a little more personality!
-
Custom stamping and paintfill make a great gift for birthdays, holidays, weddings, tournaments, retirements, or milestone rounds like a first hole-in-one or a favorite course memory. Stamping may also used to remark clubs with proper loft angle designations after bending.
-
Yes. We can safely remove broken steel or graphite shafts from clubheads without damaging the head. Once it’s out, we’ll clean and prep the hosel so the club is ready for a proper reshaft!
-
It means building a club or set specifically for you, from the ground up, based on how you swing, what you feel, and what helps you play your best. Fully optimized and customized for YOU!
-
Every build is dialed in from top to bottom, including:
Clubhead selection
Shaft type, weight, and flex
Grip style, size, and color
Ferrule choice and color
Paintfill colors (when applicable)
Swing weight and overall balance
Loft & lie angles for proper ball flight
Each detail matters, and everything works together to make the club feel and perform properly.
-
Any golfer who wants better feel, consistency, or confidence. You don’t need a perfect swing. Custom clubs help your natural swing work better.
-
Both. We can build one club to fill a gap or an entire set that flows together from top to bottom.
-
Timing depends on the build and parts availability, but quality builds take time. We’ll always give you a clear timeline expectation before getting started!

Swing weight is a measurement of how a golf club is balanced, specifically how heavy the clubhead feels when you swing it. It’s not the club’s total weight, it’s about where the weight is distributed along the club. If swing weight is too light, the club can feel hard to control or “lost” in the swing. If it’s too heavy, it can feel tiring, slow, or inconsistent.
-
The swing weight scale is a letter-and-number system that measures how a golf club is balanced. It runs from A0 (very light-feeling) to G9 (very heavy-feeling). Most golf clubs fall between C4 and D6. Each step represents a small but noticeable change in how heavy the clubhead feels during the swing.
-
Men's Clubs: Generally D1-D4. D2 is often considered the industry benchmark.
Women's/Senior Clubs: Usually, C5-C9.
Wedges: Often slightly higher swing weights (D3-D6) for better control.
Amateurs: Usually play in the C8 to D2 range. This tends to feel comfortable and controllable for a wide range of swing speeds and tempos.
Tour Professionals: Typically use clubs in the D2-D5 range. Their objective is a heavier, more consistent feel.
There no “correct” swing weight number. The right swing weight depends on your strength, tempo, shaft, length, and what feels right to you. A properly matched swing weight helps the club work with your swing instead of against it.
